No More Silent Deaths

April 11th, 2024 | 5:00-6:00PM

Join us for a captivating forum discussion inspired by the thought-provoking play, The White Chip.

In our country someone dies from addiction every 3 minutes. You are now more likely to die from an overdose than a car accident. Addiction will cost our healthcare system and economy more than $400 billion this year. That’s an annual cost.

So, why don’t we talk about it more? Or are we just now taking notice? This forum will explore not only the current efforts to battle addiction, but how the stigma of addiction keeps all of us from talking about the national impact this disease is having - and is that tide changing? Is the general public better understanding this illness that was classified as a disease back in the late 50’s? More importantly, what can we do?
