Florida Studio Theatre's Education Program
is celebrating its 29th year of outstanding programming. From the
modest beginnings of 11 students in 1982, the program now reaches thousands
of students across the region through innovative classes, workshops, and tours.
From its modest beginnings of 11 students,
the program now reaches close to 1,000
students each year. Training both children
and adults in the language and thought of
theatre, the FST School educates both the
minds and the hearts of the theatregoers of
today and tomorrow.
The FST School staff is comprised of a core
of theatre professionals trained to teach free
of personal dictates. Our professional theatre
workshops for children offer an original
training method developed from over
two decades of experience. Based in the
same Stanislavski Method taught in the best
acting conservatories all over the world, our
classes teach each student to connect with
real emotion and portray truth on stage.
Our FST Labs for adults offer a creative
forum to explore human and artistic potential.
Workshops in Acting and Improvisation
give students of all ages the opportunity to
express themselves in new and exciting
ways. Our Theatre Appreciation classes like
Play Reading and Behind the Scenes further
the lifelong education of theatregoers on the
nuts and bolts of what it takes to produce live theatre.
