Here are some of the plays we are currently considering for our 2010-2011 Winter Mainstage Season:

Daddy Long Legs • by John Caird and Paul Gordon
This exquisitely romantic story is the vivid account of Jerusha Abbott, a young orphan girl, as she blossoms into a beautiful, intelligent and vivacious woman. Jerusha is sent to a prestigious college by an anonymous benefactor, that Jerusha whimsically dubs "Daddy Long Legs." The new two-person musical is played out through Jerusha’s letters, which paint a moving portrait of her imaginative, yet lonely life at school, her frustration and struggle with independence, and the development of her mind and spirit.
"A masterpiece… a musical that redefines musicals." – San Jose Metro

Groundswell by Ian Bruce
In this suspenseful tale of greed and power, three men find themselves in an irresistible struggle with deafening consequences. On the jagged edge of the South African diamond coast, Johan and Thami scheme a quick "get-rich" plan to buy into a diamond concession. When Smith, a retired businessman, shows up one foggy night, the stage is set for the ultimate power struggle!
"Compelling… surprisingly shocking." –Theatremania

The God of Isaac • by James Sherman
A hilarious comedy about a second generation American Jew who asks, "What is a good Jew?" His quest for an answer takes him on a funny journey of self discovery. It’s a warm-hearted look at the nature of faith, heritage and the search for meaning in contemporary life.
"Hilarious, shrewd and touching" -Chicago Sun-Times

Any Given Monday by Bruce Graham
Lenny is having a bad case of the Mondays. His wife has just left him for a sleazy real estate agent, his daughter is having a crisis of faith, and to top it all off, his least favorite football teams are playing each other on Monday Night Football. His day may be turned upside down when his best friend Mickey reveals a shocking secret that rocks Lenny’s belief system! In this quick-witted comedy, Lenny will have to make some tough decisions about what he’s willing to fight for and who he’s willing to go up against – and decide what’s right and wrong.
FLORIDA PREMIERE!

The 39 Steps • Adapted by Patrick Barlow
Vintage Hitchcock meets Monty Python in this classic spy thriller! Richard’s life is turned upside down when a beautiful female spy is murdered in his apartment. Soon, a mysterious organization called "The 39 Steps" is hot on his trail in a cross-country manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!
